Hemingway reminds me of long summer days and nights at the beach. It's a perfect message for this week since we are fast approaching the last day of school! And yes, Summer is almost here! 

One of the great things about living near the Florida coast, is well, the beach! I have to be careful to manage my time a little because it's so tempting to skip running a business and head off to the beach. If you know what I mean. Balancing a business and family is really a challenge during the summer months. 

One thing for sure, I want to make memories with my family. I'm trying to plan things out. I'd like to take more road trips. Those are always the best; especially when you find a small town you've never been to before and can just explore.

I don't have to share a post about thanking a vet on Memorial Day. I thank him every day. {my husband, the REAL Captain America}

That's my husband jumping out of an airplane on one of his many halo jumps. I never told you about how much I hated those. Mostly for fear that his parachute might not open. He made it an effort to not let me know when he had a jump to make on those days. Thank you honey!

Time to make memories

Inspiration field trip

When you start to feel your creative mojo slipping, what do you do? Me? I head outside...for an inspiration field trip!

Several places I like to visit...

a walk in the park

a walk in the city

a visit to my favorite local thrift store(s)

Then, FOOD! I usually plan it awhile after I make all my morning drop offs. All the kids are delivered to school, I head back home, relax and finish up some business.

Then, it's time to head out and get some inspiration.

One of my favorite thrift store in town is De'France. This picture doesn't do it justice (the room was dark, and I was moving when I decided to take this photo).

But they have so many divided rooms for everything! If you're looking for old, it's here. If you're looking for a speaker, it's here. If you're looking for a vintage typewriter, crates, clothing, it's here too!

Here's a booth I spotted.

Fun fabric sewn owls and birds! I love that the birds had wired feet. So creative! You can tell that each bird was handmade with love. 

And then I spotted a quirky handbag. 

The print on the handbag is not me, but I LOVE the handles!!! I really liked the structure of the handbag overall and it was a good size bag. 

So what did I end up getting at my visit? Just a few items that caught my eye REALLY bad. One vintage lace fabric and a few mason jars. I'm thinking of adding it to my collection of jars, but we'll have to wait and see.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that they have food there as well. It's especially nice to munch on something while you shop.

Introducing our Late Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

 

It's been a lot of work in the making.

I was really inspired by French vintage. I love the french

market style and just clean french decor.

You'll notice that most of the product names are french.

And this one here is my favorite!!!

This bag is one of a kind and you'll get compliments! The  

pearls were added as a fun touch...and yes, every bag needs a

Sneak peek for our Summer Collection

Lots of wheels turning over here in the studio.

With this collection, I wanted to go back to basics.

I want to use fabric material that are not so much "popular" and step away from that theme a little. Not completely away from it, but you'll notice the transition.

And you know what...I'm in LOVE with it! 

We're changing and evolving. I hope you'll enjoy this ride with me as I take a chance on it. It's a little scary, but I'm up for it. 

We're introducing new purses, tote bags, and journal sleeves. My creative team and I hope you'll love the new products.
